Price

Pros
–Affordable
–Easy to blend
–Worked with powder & corrector
–Minimal creasing
–Full coverage
–Easily accessible

Cons
–Not cruelty free
–Shades lean yellow
–Applicator is small, had to dip in several times

Final Thoughts
This concealer is really affordable and has really good coverage. I didn’t love that I had to keep dipping back in to get more product and I don’t go crazy with concealer like some people do. The shade is more of a perfect match, rather than a lighter shade for brightening and I have the lightest shade. I used a little bit of the white Colour Pop concealer to give a more brightening effect. There was minimal creasing and settling. This isn’t anything to rave about, but it’s not bad either. Just meh!

Dupe or Duped? Lip Stains

IMG_8189

LANCOME MATTE SHAKER

Claims–Lightweight, comfort matte finish :: intense color payoff :: soft cushion tip applicator :: Vitamin E for comfortable, non-drying wear

Price–$22 at Ulta, Nordstrom, lancomeuse.com

Shade Range–8
My Shades–Magenta, Deep Red

Pros–Long lasting :: comfortable :: buildable coverage :: dries down & doesn’t transfer :: not drying :: soft applicator

Cons–Only available at specialty stores :: expensive :: shade range :: hard to remove :: not cruelty free

Final Thoughts–I LOVE these. They are the perfect stain to wear under liquid or bullet lipsticks so there is color on your lips even if the liquid/bullet lipstick starts to wear off. These sample sizes will last me a while, but I would pay full price for a full size. They are hard to remove so I recommend starting with a lip liner and trying your best to stay in the lines. If you get it outside your lip line, it’s staying there all day.

REVLON KISS CUSHION LIP TINT

Claims–Look of a stain, feel of a balm :: buildable color : soft cushion tip applicator :: infused with coconut oil

Price–$9.99 at Ulta :: $9.99 at Walgreens :: $8.97 at Wal Mart :: $8.99 at Target

Shade Range–10
My Shades–Crimson Feels, Berry Lit

Pros–Affordable :: easy to find/access :: not drying :: soft applicator :: lightweight

Cons–Shade range :: not cruelty free

Final–I really love these too. Again, I love to wear under lipsticks or apply on top if I’m wearing a formula that can be drying. You can build this up for a more pigmented look or just do a quick swipe for a more sheer look. They add shine and make lips look juicy without being sticky like a gloss or drying.

Let’s start out by pointing out an obvious difference, the Lancome is matte and the Revlon is not. This post is more about a comparison of formula rather than finish. For the record, Lancome has a non-matte version. You get the same lip stain/tint effect from both products. These are stains so I recommend using a lip liner to prevent bleeding.

My favorite way to use these, as a I mentioned earlier, is under or over other lip products, but I will wear them on their own too.

Be careful when applying these, especially the Lancome. These are stains and if you go outside of your lip line, your skin will be stained…for days. I swatched these on my hand and used a makeup wipe, oil based remover, cream makeup remover, and micellar water in addition to washing my hands several times a day and showering, and the color was still there 2 days later.

Price
–$8.99 at milanicosmetics.com

Shade Range

Pros
–Affordable
–Cruelty free
–Minimal creasing
–Shade match for me
–Didn’t settle into fine lines

Cons
–Shades lean yellow
–Hard to access (I ordered online and I haven’t seen it in any stores)

Final Thoughts
The lightest shade matched better than I thought it was going to, but it’s a bit too yellow for my skin tone. I used a bit of the white Colour Pop Concealer (Fair 00) to help brighten and cut the yellow. The shade is an exact match and I like a brighter under eye. I’ve heard mix reviews on this, but I like it. It’s full coverage, minimal creasing, and worked with my corrector and powder.

Praise be that there is a shade match for me! It lives up to all of its claims so there’s another bonus. It is pricey for the drugstore, but drugstore prices are on the rise. It’s full coverage, worked with my go to under eye products, and didn’t settle into my fine lines too badly. The wand, formula, and coverage are very Shape Tape-esque so if you’re a Shape Tape fan, give this a go! I love this and will continue to use it.

–Non-comedogenic
–Buildable coverage

–Long wearing

Cons
–Fragrance
–Lightest shade leans yellow/warm

Final Thoughts
The formula is very thin and liquid-y. I got the lightest shade, Pearl, and it was a little too yellow so I mixed in some blue and white foundation mixers to make it work better for my skin tone. I could still my redness peeking through with just one layer. With two layers, I got high, medium coverage/low, full coverage. I blended it out with my Morphe M439 brush and then went in with my sponge to smooth everything out. I don’t love the fragrance, but it doesn’t linger. It really sits nicely on the skin and I love the finish. It worked well with my usual complexion products too. I’ve seen a few YouTubers just got nuts over this foundation and while I like it, it’s not life changing. I think if there was a better shade match for me, I would really love it.

Primer: Too Faced Hangover Rx, elf Blur Stick
Powder: Milani Prep+Set+Glow

elf 16 HR Camo Concealer

There have been SO many new concealer to hit the market and naturally I’ve purchased most of them to test. This post is the first in what I’m calling a “concealer-thon.” I didn’t want to clog up my content with constant concealer reviews so I’m going to review a new concealer each Wednesday and then do a bonus post on either Tuesday or Thursday.

Claims
–Matte finish
–Full coverage
–Long wear
–Won’t settle into fine lines
–Crease resistant
–Creamy, dreamy formula

Price
–$5
Ulta, Target, elfcosmetics.com

Shade Range
–18
–My shade: Fair Rose

Pros
–Affordable
–Love the large doe foot applicator
–Shade match for me
–Full coverage
–Minimal creasing
–Cruelty free
–Vegan
–Easy to blend
–Don’t need much product
–Worked with my powder and corrector

Cons
–Shade range

Final Thoughts
The shade Fair Rose is SUCH a perfect shade match for me, it brightens and it’s pinked toned. It’s full coverage and lives up to all of its claims. I have tiny, fine lines under my eyes so most all concealers crease and settle a little, you can’t avoid it, this was no exception, but I was impressed with how little it settled and creased. It’s easy to blend out with a beautyblender and makes the under eye look smooth and flawless. This is an amazing product and you can’t beat the price.
