  • It’s A 10 Miracle Blow Dry Styling Balm

  • Japonesque Brushes

  • Fenty Gloss Bomb + Sephora Infinite Rose

  • Anastasia Dip Brow Gel
    • I have pretty full brows so I don’t have to spend much time filling them in every day, but they are very light. A quick swipe of this and a few strokes with a pencil at the front is all I need for bomb brows.

    • If I’m going for a lighter look, I’ll wear this alone, and it looks great alone, but it’s so pretty used as a topper as well.
  • Jeffree Star Magic Powder
    • And another product I did a full review on. I love it and you can read more here.
  • Nailene Nail Glue
    • Game changer if you love press on nails like me. It’s cheap and it’s the best glue that I’ve found.

lip combo
This is the nude lip combo I mentioned earlier. My watch band is another favorite. I really liked the silicone bands when I first got my Apple Watch, but now I don’t know if I can go back.

IMG_0631I’ve been in my office since October and I’m finally adding a little flair to my cube. Obvi, the Friday Night Lights sign is front and center. I love the garland/whatever that holds pictures because it’s much easier to switch out these photos than it would be if they were in frames. I have some personal photos of my babeis, duh, and some prints from two of my favorite Etsy shops. Check out Pamlico Paper and Scattered Grace Design. I’m sure you’ll find something you love, but if you need something more custom, they can do that too! They are both small, local businesses and the women behind them are so sweet!

Final Thoughts
I FREAKING love this powder. I didn’t think any powder could live up to my beloved Fenty, but this one definitely does. It lives up to all of its claims and I can’t get over how flawless my skin looked. It worked on my dry skin and didn’t cake up or accentuate dryness. I really don’t like the scent, but it doesn’t linger and the product is so bomb that I can overlook that. I can’t say enough good things about this product. I tried with different foundations and powders and it worked with all of them. I highly recommend it!

April Favorites

This is the semi-lazy version of April favorites because I’m too lazy to gather all of my favorites and take an actual photo. You’re getting a product collage today, friends.

collage

  1. NARS Velvet Lip Glide in Bound–I got this a 100 point perk and used up the mini so quickly. I LOVE this formula and this shade lives in my purse. It’s the perfect every day neutral.
  2. Equate Beauty Flat Kabuki Brush–I’ve been trying different techniques with my all over setting powder. Even though I have dry skin, I always set with powder. I have to. Since my skin is dry, finding the right tool & powder combo can be difficult. I’ve been loving using this brush to really press the powder into my skin/foundation for a flawless look. I’m really impressed with quality for the price.
  3. Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder in Lavender–If you have fair skin and have trouble finding an under eye setting powder that brightens, look no further. Other than the price, I have nothing negative to say about this powder. I will gladly pay full price for this product though because it’s THAT good. It’s so finely milled, brightens, sets, and makes my under eye area looked blurred and flawless. Love, love, love this.
  4. Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick in Melancholia + NARS Orgasm Lip Balm–I can’t stop wearing this lip combo. The shades pair really well and I love the hint of added shimmer that the balm adds.
  5. Morphe M443 Pointed Liner Brush–I go through phases with eyeliner and which kind I prefer. I’m back onto gel liner and this brush gives a perfect line effortlessly.
  6. It Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness Moisturizer–This was a surprise half off deal during Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty so I decided to give it a go. I have a lot of redness in my skin and had wondered about this product, but didn’t want to splurge since I hadn’t heard many reviews on it. I’m so glad I decided to get it. It really works! I can tell my skin isn’t as red and it’s super moisturizing which my dry skin needs. I hate to say goodbye to my beloved Hydro Boost, but I’m really seeing a difference with this product.
  7. Wet n Wild Gel Pout Lip Liners–I’ve never been one to splurge on high end lip liners and if you do, give these a try. I love this formula. It’s creamy, but not slippery and they are SO affordable. I have almost every shade.
  8. Kiss Salon Dip Kit–I picked this up because it was cheap and if it didn’t work out, I wasn’t out a whole lot. I ended up LOVING it. The powder is really fine so it doesn’t get really thick and impossible to file down. The other powder colors, base coat, activator, and top coat are all super affordable as well. If you’ve been interested in an at home dip kit, I highly recommend this one!
PicMonkey Collage1
The boys and I have been LOVING the warmer weather and have been spending lots of time outside. Y’all know I’m definitely more indoorsy, but I’ll do anything for those babies.

I love these photo hanger thingys. I have one on my mantle in my room and recently added one to my cubicle at work. It’s a cute way to display photos and prints and it’s super easy to switch pictures in and out.

Other highlights from April
–I became an aunt to the sweetest little boy, Ethan James.
–I got a new tattoo.
–I survived a CrAzY, busy month at work.
–I celebrated my baby cousin’s first birthday.

Becca Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder

You may have noticed there was no “Mascara Monday” or “Mask Monday” post up yesterday. I’m currently over posting about a mask or mascara every Monday. I’m sure I will get back to it as I have a stock pile of photos and reviews ready, but for now, we’re changing it up on Mondays, starting next week!

–My shade: Original

Pros
–50% water and glycerin :: a dry skin dream
–Feels wet and cool when going on :: very interesting, in a good way!
–Face/skin looked flawless and filtered
–Packaging :: love the net, it’s mess free

Cons
–Expensive for the amount of product you get

Final Thoughts
Y’all, this is a dry skin dream. I just hate that it’s so freaking expensive! My face looked FLAW-LESS and blurred. I was blown away. I used my Bare Minerals Bare Pro Core Coverage Brush to apply and press into the skin. I do not think combo/oily skin folks will like this. This is the best setting powder that I’ve tried on my dry skin, HOWEVER, my Milani powder is just as good and so much cheaper.

Milani Prep+Set+Glow Illuminating Transparent Powder

Claims
–Natural, healthy glow
–Blurs imperfections
–Sets makeup
–Adds all over radiance
–Lit-from-within finish

Price
–$9.99 at milanicosmetics.com, Walgreens, Target
–$8.97 at Wal Mart

Pros
–Affordable
–Perfect for dry skin
–Cruelty free
–Vegan
–Sets makeup but doesn’t cake
–Lives up to all of its claims
–Easily accessible

Cons
–None

Final Thoughts
I am OBSESSED with this powder. I have dry skin, but I’m not into the super dewy, glowy look. Most setting powders are mattifying and don’t look the best on dry skin, but they set your makeup well. I was looking for a product that would set, but not necessarily mattify and accentuate my dryness and I finally found it. This one sets, but doesn’t mattify or cake. It just gives a beautiful, subtle glow. I use this product every single day and it is a dry skin dream. I can’t be without it!

P.S. I use it with this brush. I swirl the brush in and then go in and set. I use a light hand and a light amount of product.

IMG_4903
It’s really hard to get a swatch of a transparent powder, but I tried.
IMG_4856
AM & PM :: My makeup was set and was still in place at the end of the day. You can see the subtle glow it gives a little better in the picture on the right.

L’Oreal Hydra Perfecte Perfecting Loose Powder

IMG_7214

Claims
–Light-diffusing
–Minimizes pores
–Special moisturizers to nourish and protect your skin

Price
–$9.99 at Wal Mart
–$11.95 at lorealparis.com

Shade Range
–3
–My shade: Translucent

Pros
–Affordable
–Not overly mattifying like most powders are
–Finely milled
–Looks good on my dry skin
–Soft focus effect

Cons
–Scent, very strong fragrance
–Hard to find :: I only find it in store at Wal Mart
–Not cruelty free

Final Thoughts
All powders will slightly mattify, some more than others, and that can look bad on dry skin. This powder is perfect for us dry skinned gals. It has a very airbrushed, soft focus effect and doesn’t look cakey or accentuate dryness. The scent is strong, like it is in most L’Oreal products, but it doesn’t linger and I can deal with it. I hate that it’s hard to find in stores. I only find it at Wal Mart which sucks. I don’t know how well this would work for keeping oils at bay so keep that in mind if you have oily skin. It’s my new favorite, go to loose setting powder.

Beauty Busts 2018

Because not every product is a winner

makeup

MAKEUP
Tarte Shape Tape Foundation (Hydrating) :: I wasn’t impressed with the coverage or the shade. You can read my full review here.
Urban Decay Velvetizer :: Andrea Matilliano recommened this and said it made her skin look flawless and blurred. Umm sign me up! I believe her, but it was just too cakey on my dry skin. It looked horrible.
Becca Soft Light Blurring Powder in Pink Haze :: Can you tell I’m all about the blur? The powder was really nice and finely milled and didn’t look bad on my dry skin, but the shade just didn’t work on my fair skin.
Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Powder :: CAKEY MESS. I bought the mini for $15 and returned it.
—-CoverGirl Peach Punch Highlighter :: This looked so promising and is a pretty shade, but it’s straight glitter. Review here.
Colour Pop No Filter Foundation Stick :: No shade match, not good on dry skin. See a theme here? You’d think I’d learn, but I must try it all. Review here.
—-LOreal Lash Paradise Primer :: I liked this at first, but it got thick and clumpy really quickly. I’m sticking with the LOreal Voluminous Mascara Primer. Review here.
CoverGirl Mascara Primer :: This may be the worst product I tried all year. It did nothing and I don’t even know if I even got the product on my lashes. It gets caught and clumped in the bristles on the wand. Major fail. Full review here.
Colour Pop No Filter Foundation :: No shade match and way too matte for my dry skin. Review here.
Colour Pop No Filter Loose Setting Powder :: Again, CAKEY MESS. Too matte for my dry skin. Review here.
Morphe Highlight & Contour Sponge :: So hard and rough.

skin

SKINCARE
Tatcha Water Cream :: I got a small size as a 100 point perk and was so disappointed. I feel like this a hyped product and Tatcha is a hyped brand, but this did not give enough hydration for me. Hydro Boost for life.
Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base :: Another hyped up product that is a good base for dry skin. I got sample and could not get past the scent. It might be amazing, but the smell is awful. This is a moisturizing primer so perhaps it should have gone with the makeup, but I’m too lazy to move it. Whatever. It still stinks.
