MAC Colour Excess Gel Pencil Liner
–Claims :: Waterproof; highly pigmented; wears for 24+ hours on lids & 12 hours on waterlines; smooth-glide applications; transfer-proof; smudge-resistant
–Price :: $24 at Ulta, Nordstrom, Amazon
–Shade Range :: 16
–My Shade :: Commitment Issues
–Pros :: Shade range; no sharpener required; pigmented; creamy; long lasting; doesn’t run or smudge; agree with all claims
–Cons :: Not cruelty free; price; availability
–Final Thoughts :: I bought this shade specifically for my waterline. I have to find a pencil that actually stays in my waterline–drugstore or high end. This one actually STAYS; the purple shade enhances my green eyes and makes them pop; lasts all day and doesn’t budge but is easy to remove; amazing formula; I want more shades
Juvia’s Place Volumizing Gloss Stick
–Claims :: Rich pigment; high shine; all day hydration; natural volumizing plump; lightweight; non sticky
–Price :: $15 at Ulta, Juvia’s Place
–Shade Range :: 12
–My Shade :: Soft Mauve
–Pros :: Shade range; affordable; cruelty free; lightweight; not sticky; super shiny; creamy; pigmented; agree with all claims; love the shade I picked
–Cons :: Availability; not long lasting
–Final Thoughts :: I think Tarte started the whole lip gloss stick movement, but that formula has been duped so many times now; I don’t like the Tarte formula, it’s too thick and sticky. This one isn’t like that at all; it’s pigmented, but not sticky and very light; doesn’t last long if eating and drinking, but it doesn’t claim to be longwearing; the “plump” isn’t too strong, just a slight tingle
Coola Dew Good Illuminating Serum Sunscreen SPF 30
–Claims :: Silky serum; instant dewy look; goes on sheer; mitigates the effects of the sun, blue light, & other environmental stressors; weightless; probiotic technology helps to improve moisture retention
–Price :: $48 at Ulta, Amazon, Nordstrom, Sephora
–Pros :: Cruelty free; vegan; packaging, pump!; sustainable packaging; SPF 30 + blue light protections; absorbs quickly; gorgeous glow; perfect consistency; agree with all claims
–Cons :: Price; availability
–Final Thoughts :: 2022 Allure Best of Beauty winner; I love the elf Whoa Glow SPF and it’s $14, but I wanted to try this one while I could get a deal; has a watermelon-ish scent which I wasn’t expecting, but I don’t mind it; glowy but not glittery or too dewy; not too thick or too thin; absorbs fast; perfect under makeup
PUR 4-in-1 Loose Blurring Setting Powder
–Claims :: Helps lock in foundation & concealer without cakey coverage; lightweight; microfine; won’t settle into fine lines & pores; blurring; twist & lock packaging
–Price :: $28 at Ulta, Amazon
–Shade Range :: 3
–My Shade :: Translucent
–Pros :: Skincare infused; cruelty free; didn’t cake; smoothing; blurring; lightweight; locked foundation in place all day
–Cons :: Hate the packaging; availability; price; not truly translucent
–Final Thoughts :: The twist and lock packaging sounds ideal, but it’s a pain to get any product out. I repackaged in a different jar; PUR is underrated and forgotten about, but they have some really great products; my face looked flawless and airbrushed BUT it darkened my foundation. I don’t think it’s truly translucent. If you aren’t super fair like me, it will probably work; the formula is great, just not the best for me.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Magic Touch Concealer
–Claims :: Medium to full coverage; creamy; lightweight; natural, second-skin finish; smooth, crease-proof, & comfortable wear; won’t oxidize; won’t settle into fine lines; easy blendability; correct, brighten, blur, & conceal
–Price :: $29 at Ulta, Sephora, Nordstrom
–Shade Range :: 25
–My Shade :: 2
–Pros :: Cruelty free; vegan; shade range; creamy; lightweight; easy to blend; no creasing; long lasting; agree with all claims; full coverage
–Cons :: Price; availability
–Final Thoughts :: This is Mikayla’s favorite concealer so I had to try it; I got shade 2 which is described as “Very fair skin with cool undertones” and that is my skin tone, but this is dark and warm, in my opinion. However, I was able to make it work!; does what it claims; excellent formula; longevity; worked well with other under eye products; I don’t hear much about this, but it’s a top tier concealer
Ofra Cosmetics Star Lit Liquid Highlighter
–Claims :: Filled with skin loving ingredients; can be used alone or mixed in with foundation, serum, or moisturizer; dries to a satin finish for long-lasting results; stays put without becoming greasy or slipping
–Price :: $29 at Ulta, Ofra
–Shade Range :: 5
–My Shade :: Monroe
–Pros :: Shade range; multi-use product; packaging, pump!; vegan; cruelty free; easy to blend; gorgeous glow/sheen with no glitter; layers well with powder; long lasting
–Cons :: Price; availability
–Final Thoughts :: Online only at Ulta or Ofra’s site; I’m only using it as a highlighter but I like that it can be used multiple ways; shade range has something for everyone–fair to deep; I only need a little for my cheekbones so this will last me a while; love that it dries down so you can layer a powder highlighter on top with ease; longevity; such a stunning glow
