A few weeks ago I treated myself to a lash lift and tint and my life was changed. I know that’s dramatic, but it’s true. I really didn’t need another expensive thing to add to my plate, but here we are. I had mine done by Kristy in Goldsboro and she is the best. She explained everything as she did and made sure I was comfortable. She also loves dogs and makeup and we are kindred spirits. She also does hair, brows, and lash extensions. If you’re local, you HAVE to go see her.
- What is it?
- Short version–a perm for your lashes
- How long does it last?
- 6-8 weeks
- How much does it cost?
- Varies depending on your area, but I paid $35
- What’s the process?
- A silicone “rod” is adhered to your lid, then your lashes are combed up and glued to the rod. Then, the perming liquid is brushed on and you let it set for about 10 minutes. After the liquid has set, a setting solution is applied.
- It didn’t hurt at all. I could easily have fallen asleep and gotten a nap.
- I have really short lashes, so I wasn’t sure this was going to work for me, but it dang sure did.
- My lash technician recommended that I take my contacts out, so I did.
- You can’t get your lashes wet for 24 hours and I removed my eye makeup before we got started.

- What is it?
- Dying your lashes black, just like you would dye your hair
- How long does it last?
- 4-6 weeks
- How much does it cost?
- Again, this varies but it’s around $20 in my area
- What’s the process?
- I got mine done when I had the lift done. My lashes were already adhered to the silicone rod so the dye was just brushed on them after the lift was finished. A patch, similar to a shadow shield, was placed under my lower lashes and then the dye was brushed on those as well. The dye was on for 10 minutes, wiped off, and then I was done.
- I had white blonde hair as a kid and even though my hair got darker as I got older, my lashes and brows stayed blonde. If I don’t wear mascara and fill in my brows, you can’t even tell I have lashes or brows. Tinting makes a big difference in my appearance.

- I mentioned this before, but I removed my contacts to avoid any irritation or sensitivity. I am blind as a bat and had to see how to drive home so I just put on my glasses when we were done.
- Neither of the aforementioned services irritated my eyes or the skin around them
- I LOVE how both of these turned out and I am hooked on these services. I will be back every 6-8 weeks to continue getting them done.
- I’ve been using a lash growth serum (review here) and that, in combination with the lift, makes my lashes look amazing.
- You can still use mascara and Y’ALL, my lashes look fake when I have mascara on.
- How are these two things different from lash extensions?
- These 2 treatments will not make your lashes longer, fuller, or more voluminous like lash extensions do.
- Lash extensions require a fill every few weeks
- Lash extensions are hella expensive upfront and then you have the fills that add up
- Extensions are more upkeep and maintenance and there are rules for what you can and can’t use as far as certain products
- Kristy does lash extensions so if you want to try those, go see her!
