I know some people don’t use or “believe” in primer, but I can’t do my makeup without it. Primers can serve a multitude of purposes. They can add a glow, help mattify, hydrate, smooth, and/or just provide an nice canvas for foundation application. I’ve got options from all categories below. I have a few different primers in my collection and I generally use 3 primers. That’s a bit much, but it’s what I like. I start with a primer water, then do a smoothing/blurring primer in targeted areas, and then finish up with a hydrating primer.
These primers do a little bit of everything–hydrate, grip, blur, shine control. If you’re new to primer or don’t really need to target a specific concern, I’d start with one of these
