5 Products I Can’t Do My Makeup Without

  1. RCMA No Color Powder
    • Best all over powder for dry skin
    • Sometimes I use a different powder for my undereye area, but in a pinch, this works for all over setting.
    • The packaging sucks so I bought these jars off Amazon and repackaged it myself.
  2. Beauty Sponge
    • The one pictured is from Sonia Kashuk, but I have several favorites (post coming soon!)
    • I used to hate sponges and only stick to brushes, but that is no longer the case.
    • I use my sponge for foundation, concealer, powder, and all over blending. This one tool takes the place of several brushes. I’m all for efficiency.
  3. Maybelline Brow Precise Volumizer
    • I can use this alone or with my pencil and clear brow gel depending on time and my level of laziness.
  4. Mark & Graham Compact Mirror
    • My BFF gave me this for Christmas and I had in my purse for the longest time, but I took it out and put it on my vanity and I’ve gotten so much more use out of it.
    • It has a regular size and a super magnified side which is great since I am blind as a bat. I can super up close to do my eye makeup and makeup sure everything is blended and in place.
  5. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer in Fair
    • There’s a reason this product has such a cult following, it’s really that good.
    • I use it to conceal my dark circles and spot conceal on my face.

Underrated Products

We all know the cult classics that are always talked about on YouTube and blogs, but there are so MANY products out there.

Here are so of my favorites that I think go unnoticed.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Line
–I love every product from this line from the cleanser to the sunscreen.
–These products are easily accessible, affordable, smell good, and work so well.
–The most expensive product in the line is $20

Maybelline The Skinny Eye Liner
–I love this product for tight lining my upper lash line.
–It’s creamy enough that it glides on easily, but isn’t so creamy that it slides all over the place.

Tarte Double Duty Beauty Confidence Creamy Powder Foundation
–That’s a dang long name and all it is is a powder foundation.
–It’s my go to when I’m in a hurry. I can get full coverage with 2 light layers.

Makeup Geek Contour Powders
–No one talks about these and they are SO good and SO affordable.
–I personally think contour palettes are a bit of waste, especially for my very fair skin tone. You get 6 or more shades and you can only use a handful. For this reason, I prefer singles.
–My shade is  Break Up.

Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid Lipsticks
–I’ve tried close to 40 liquid lipsticks from all price points and these are by far my favorite.
–I’ve gotten rid of most of my other liquid lipsticks and gotten more shades in this line.
–I currently have 9 of them and I have my eye on a few more shades.

LOreal Mascara Primer
–If you’ve never used a mascara primer, I recommend trying one. More specifically, this one.
–It’s affordable and will make a huge difference

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil
–I usually don’t splurge on high end lip pencils and I got the ones I have half off so I really didn’t have to. I would, however, pay full price for these.
–They glide on so easily. I hate liners that tug!

CoverGirl 3-in-1 Foundation (not pictured)
–I LOVE this foundation for so many reasons–it’s cheap, it has a pump, there’s color that matches me, and I can get full coverage with 2 light layers.

Bare Minerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipsticks (not pictured)
–I know I just said the Maybelline liquid lipsticks were my favorite, but these are a close second.
–I don’t do nude lipsticks, I prefer a light pink, and there is definitely a shade for everyone in this range.

New Products: Purchase or Pass?

There is so much makeup coming out right now and I can hardly keep up, but I always have my eyes peeled so I don’t miss a thing.

I’m normally #teamallthemakeup, but sometimes there are products that just don’t do it for me. Keep reading to see what I want to purchase and pass on.

Project Pan 2018

If you aren’t familiar with the “project pan” concept, the short version is you select products from your collection that you want to use up or “pan.”

I’ve really been trying to use up products I have before buying more, but that doesn’t always happen as I have an addiction to shopping and makeup. Oops?

However, there are a few products in my collection that I have hit pan on that I would like to finish up this year.

Clearly, I’m really close on some of these and have a ways to go on others.

  1. Tarte Double Duty Beauty Confidence Creamy Powder Foundation in Fair Neutral
    • There’s a shade that is light enough for me
    • This has good coverage for a powder foundation
    • Would consider repurchasing this
  2. Colour Pop No Filter Concealer in Fair
    • I love the price and the coverage is good, but Fair is a little too dark.
    • I mix it with my KVD concealer and make it work, but it’s not my ideal shade.
  3. MAC Studio Fix Powder in NC15
    • This is slightly too dark for me so I put this on first and then the Tarte powder. These two give me full coverage quickly.
  4. Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer in 00A Porcelain
    • I love the coverage of this foundation, but it’s pretty thick and I have to mix in a oil to make it work for my dry skin.
    • I can only find my shade online so that’s a bummer too.
    • I’m going to do a full review soon.
  5. Colour Pop Super Shock Cheek Highlighter in Lunch Money
    • LOVE this highlighter. Clearly.
    • It’s perfect on it’s own and definitely packs a punch, but I often had a powder highlighter because #extra and I glow to the Heavens.
  6. Limelight by Alcone Botanical Foundation in Ivory
    • Spoiler alert: there’s a full review of this foundation going up tomorrow.
    • Full coverage in a flash
    • Will definitely repurchase
  7. Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in Light Bronze
    • I went hard with this when it first came out because for the first time there was a bronzer that actually worked for my skin tone. THANK YOU, PHYSICIANS FORMULA!
    • Once Hoola Lite came on the scene, I kinda let this go to the side, but I’m picking it back up and hoping to finish it.
  8. Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Paaarty
    • I haven’t hit pan on this, but I’ve got to be getting close.
    • This is one of my favorite blushes and I wear it all.the.time.

I’m going to be doing an update in June and a finale in Friday.
