Foundation Friday: Colour Pop No Filter Stick

Y’all know I love some Colour Pop and almost lost my mind when I saw they were releasing a stick foundation. I love a stick foundation because they’re super quick and easy to use.

I did not like the liquid No Filter Foundation, review here, so I was a little hesitant about this, but of course I had to buy it and try it anyway.

Claims
–Conceal, correct, and perfect for a flawless complexion in seconds
–Medium-buildable coverage
–Instantly blurs pores, covers blemishes, and blends effortlessly
–Natural, skin-like finish
–Never cakey or drying

Price
–$10 for 0.34 oz
colourpop.com
Compared to the Ulta Moisturizing Stick Foundation that is $14 for 0.3 oz

Shade Range
–30
–My shade: Fair 0.5W

Pros
–Shade match help, can match by brand
–Cruelty free
–Vegan
–Lasted all day
–Easy to blend
–Creamy
–Shade range

Cons
–No shade match for me
–I set it with powder but it didn’t feel like it actually set down
–Looked a little cakey on my dry skin

Final Thoughts
This foundation wore fine throughout the day, but I didn’t love how my skin looked. This shade was too warm for me, but the fair cool shade would have been too dark. They need a 0.5C. I had to use a white mixer to make it work. The Ulta foundation stick is better and there’s a perfect shade match for me. (review on the Ulta stick here) I think this is better suited for normal, combo, or oily skin. Not good, not bad, just meh..

Foundation Friday: Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Liquid Makeup

I wore this foundation in high school and college and then they changed the shade range and there was no longer a shade match for me. I wore “Shell” forever, but the “Shell” of today is HELLA dark.

Once I got into makeup and started following blogs and watching YouTube, so many people raved about this foundation. I’m over like, “I KNOW IT’S GOOD. I USED IT BEFORE YOU!” I was salty.

Estee Lauder came to their senses and expanded the shade range and when I saw there was one for me, I couldn’t add to my cart fast enough.

Claims
–24 hour wear
–Oil free
–Non-acnegenic
–Medium-to-full coverage
–Matte finish
–Waterproof
–Transfer resistant
–Dermatologist tested
–Fragrance free
–Cool, neutral, and warm undertones available

Price
–$42 for 1.0 oz
Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom

Shade Range
–56
–My shade: 0N1 Alabaster
*some shades are online only at some retailers

Pros
–Shade range
–Shade match for me
–Lightweight on the skin
–Full coverage
–Long lasting
–Fragrance free
–Matte finish but can work for dry skin with proper skin prep

Cons
–Packaging :: You can by a pump separately for $10
–Not cruelty free
–Expensive
–Some shades are online only at some retailers

Final Thoughts
There’s a reason this foundation has a cult following and is loved by so many. It is full coverage and will last all.day.long. I definitely need to get the pump, otherwise it pours out and there is potential to waste product and it’s too expensive for that to happen. I have to moisturize, use a glowy/hydrating primer, and use a hydrating spray to make this work for my dry skin, but the end result is worth it. If I don’t hydrate properly, it will look like crap on my dry skin. I also like to mix this with other foundations for a little extra coverage and wear time. I usually wear something lighter for day to day, but I like this for special occasions and long days. I am so glad this foundation is back in my life.

Estee Lauder recently came out with Double Wear Light Soft Matte Hydra Makeup and I want to try it, but there isn’t a shade for me. I need them to expand that line and help a sister out.

Warning my fair looks fabulous like crap in these photos. I’m lazy. Sorry not sorry.

Final Thoughts
I DO NOT like this foundation. I got a sample from Sephora and I am so glad I didn’t buy this. This just looked horrible from the start, I really didn’t want to wear it all day, but I powered through. I had to use A LOT of white mixer to get the shade to work for me and it just looked cakey and bad on my dry skin. There are better, cheaper options.

Final Thoughts
I FREAKING LOVE THIS PRODUCT. It looks good on my dry skin and gives me full coverage in a flash. It is so quick and easy. You will want to set this because it does feel tacky and doesn’t dry down. I have several foundations so I don’t use this every day, but if I did, I think I would run out quickly. The only things I don’t like are the price and the amount. The shade I got is a perfect shade match for me and y’all know that is RARE. If you have oily skin, this will be way too emollient for you, but if you have dry skin, you’ll love it. I also love to use this to spot conceal when I don’t want to wear makeup, but need a little coverage in certain areas.

Cons
–Ulta exclusive
–Select shades, including mine, are online only
–Had to dip in several times throughout application

Final Thoughts
Full coverage in a flash is the first thought that comes to mind with this product. One layer is full coverage, but I did 2 on my chin because I always need extra coverage there. I was hesitant to try this because I was scared it would be too matte for my dry skin, but the finish is perfect and worked well on my dry skin. I used a brush and a sponge and it blended easily with both. I love this and have reached for it daily since I bought it.

–Packaging, pump!
–Cruelty free
–No parabens
–No phthalates
–Oil free
–Longwearing
–Shade match
–Medium, buildable coverage

Cons
–Sephora exclusive

Final Thoughts
–This looked a little cakey on my dry skin, but I tend to go crazy with powder, so I think that was my fault.
–The redness on my chin was still visible with 2 layers. It built up nicely, but I don’t think you can get full coverage with this without it caking up.
–I did the first layer with my Artis brush dupe and then did the second with a beautyblender.
–It wore off on my chin, but every foundation does.
–I got a sample of this at Sephora so I could try before I buy and I’m glad I did. I like it and I think it’s good, but I wouldn’t buy the full size.
–It didn’t look horrible on my dry skin, but I think this is better suited for normal, oily, and combo skin types.

Final Thoughts
I got a a sample of this with a Sephora order and Y205 ended up being a perfect match for me. I was hesitant to try this since it has “Matte” in the name, but it looked good on my dry skin and didn’t dry me out or cling to dry patches. It was really easy to blend in, didn’t feel heavy, and lasted all day. It also gave full coverage, which is what I prefer. It also worked well with my concealers and powders. I’ve got several foundations that I’m working through so I’m not going to buy the full size right now, but I definitely would purchase it.
