–Held up all day
–Worked with my corrector and powder

I have a few fine lines under my eyes so all concealers crease and settle the tiniest bit on me

Cons
–Accessibility (Ulta and Morphe stores only or online)

Final Thoughts
I LOVE this concealer. The shade C1.15 is great, it’s easy to blend, and there’s no major creasing or settling. It worked well with my corrector and powder and other complexion products. The applicator gives the perfect amount of product for both under eyes. I always blend and set my under eye area with a beauty sponge. It’s so good and so cheap. I highly recommend!

Dose of Colors Desi x Katy Friendcation Eye Shadow Palette Review

IMG_4891IMG_4892

Claims
–Long-wearing mattes
–Ultra-dazzling shades packed with multi-dimensional reflects

Price
–$55
Ulta, doseofcolors.com
(I got mine on sale and it’s going to be half off at Ulta on March 18 during the 21 Days of Beauty)

Pros
–Gorgeous packaging
–Cruelty free
–Gluten free
–Paraben free
–Pigmented
–Easy to blend
–Little fall out
–Large pan size
–Multi look palette (every day, glam, ultra smokey looks are all achievable with this palette)

Cons
–Expensive
–No brow bone shade

Final Thoughts
This was Ulta Diamond Deal and I got it half off, otherwise I wouldn’t have purchased it. I don’t splurge on eye shadow palettes though so take that as you will. The mattes are pigmented and smooth and the metallics are definitely “ultra-dazzling” and even more intense if you wet your brush before applying. I love the formula, packaging, and I’ve LOVED watching and following Desi and Katy for years so this was a total win for me. You can get some every day, neutral looks, but if that’s your preferred look, I don’t know that this palette will be worth it for you. My only complaint is there is now brow bone shade, but I have those in other palettes so it’s not a huge deal. I like it and I’m glad I have it in my collection.

Check back next week for a tutorial!

–Non-comedogenic
–Buildable coverage
–Natural finish
–Not cakey

Cons
–Fragrance
–Lightest shade leans yellow/warm

Final Thoughts
The formula is very thin and liquid-y. I got the lightest shade, Pearl, and it was a little too yellow so I mixed in some blue and white foundation mixers to make it work better for my skin tone. I could still my redness peeking through with just one layer. With two layers, I got high, medium coverage/low, full coverage. I blended it out with my Morphe M439 brush and then went in with my sponge to smooth everything out. I don’t love the fragrance, but it doesn’t linger. It really sits nicely on the skin and I love the finish. It worked well with my usual complexion products too. I’ve seen a few YouTubers just got nuts over this foundation and while I like it, it’s not life changing. I think if there was a better shade match for me, I would really love it.

Primer: Too Faced Hangover Rx, elf Blur Stick
Powder: Milani Prep+Set+Glow

elf 16 HR Camo Concealer

There have been SO many new concealer to hit the market and naturally I’ve purchased most of them to test. This post is the first in what I’m calling a “concealer-thon.” I didn’t want to clog up my content with constant concealer reviews so I’m going to review a new concealer each Wednesday and then do a bonus post on either Tuesday or Thursday.

Claims
–Matte finish
–Full coverage
–Long wear
–Won’t settle into fine lines
–Crease resistant
–Creamy, dreamy formula

Price
–$5
Ulta, Target, elfcosmetics.com

Shade Range
–18
–My shade: Fair Rose

Pros
–Affordable
–Love the large doe foot applicator
–Shade match for me
–Full coverage
–Minimal creasing
–Cruelty free
–Vegan
–Easy to blend
–Don’t need much product
–Worked with my powder and corrector

Cons
–Shade range

Final Thoughts
The shade Fair Rose is SUCH a perfect shade match for me, it brightens and it’s pinked toned. It’s full coverage and lives up to all of its claims. I have tiny, fine lines under my eyes so most all concealers crease and settle a little, you can’t avoid it, this was no exception, but I was impressed with how little it settled and creased. It’s easy to blend out with a beautyblender and makes the under eye look smooth and flawless. This is an amazing product and you can’t beat the price.

March Makeup Basket

IMG_7966

Y’all know I watch a lot of beauty videos on YouTube and one of my favorite videos are “Everyday Makeup Drawer” videos. This is where YouTubers go through their vast makeup collections and pick products that they want to focus on using for that month. It could be products that are new that they want to try, some that they’re trying to use up, and/or products they’re undecided on so they’re going to focus on using them to form an opinion.

I don’t have quite the collection as some YouTubers, but I have a decent amount of makeup so products often get forgotten or I’ll use them for a while till something new comes along. There are several products in my collection that I want to use up and I’ve bought new things to try so I decided to do my take on an “Everyday Makeup Drawer” and share a monthly makeup basket.

There are some staple products that I will use regardless and the others will rotate in and out each month. I’m not limiting myself to only what’s in this basket, but I’m going to really to try to focus on these products and pull in others in my collection.

My favorite YouTubers that do this video/series are Jessica Braun and Andrea Matillano.

STAPLES
These are products that I use every day and they will stay in the basket each month.

testing.jpg

TESTING
When I test a primer, I use a foundation that I know I like and that I know how it wears. When I test a foundation, I use a primer that I know works well so I won’t be using these primers, foundations, and the setting spray in conjunction this month.

COMPLEXION
These are the face products I want to focus on using this month. I’m so close to finishing some of them and the others are just products I haven’t been reaching for recently.

Eyes

EYES
I don’t wear eye shadow or eye liner every day and when I do, I usually use a cream base and add a powder on top. If I decide to get crazy and do a full eye look, I’ll just pull in one of my palettes.

SETTING SPRAYS

I didn’t include any lip products because my lip color choice varies day to day depending on my mood and what I’m wearing.

Mascara Monday: Benefit Roller Lash

Claims
–Grabs, separates, lifts, and curls
–Holds curl for 12 hours
–Water resistant
–Lash conditioning ingredients
–Easy to remove

Price
–$25 full size
–$13 mini
Ulta, Sephora, Nordstrom, benefitcosmetics.com

Shade Range
–2 :: Black and brown

Pros
–Cute packaging
–Holds a curl
–Separates
–Lengthens
–Mini option to testing/travel

Cons
–Not cruelty free
–Expensive

Final Thoughts
I LOVE this mascara and it one of my favorites. The only downside is that it doesn’t add much volume. However, I usually pair it with a more volumizing mascara like the Too Faced Better Than Sex or the Lancome Monsieur Big anyway. I’ve never paid full price for it, it’s usually part of one of the 21 Days of Beauty sales that Ulta has in the spring and fall. However, this is one prestige mascaras that I would pay full price for though.
