Speed Reviews: Volume XII

Peach & Lily Skin Shield Blurring Primer
Claims :: Suitable for all skin types; won’t clog pores or cause breakouts; silicone free; blurs fine lines and pores; hydrates; promotes long-lasting
Price :: $34 at Ulta, Peach & Lily
Pros :: Vegan; cruelty free; alcohol-free; fragrance-free; no silicones; packaging, pump!; hydrating; smoothing
Cons :: Availability; price; didn’t blur
Final Thoughts :: Ulta exclusive; LOVE that there’s no alcohol or silicones; didn’t blur my huge pores, but I wasn’t expecting it to; creates a hydrated, smooth base for makeup application; very similar to the KVD Lock-It Primer that I love; I’ll use it, but I wouldn’t buy it (it was a freebie) as I prefer the KVD

Tarte Quick Stick Waterproof Shadow & Liner
Claims :: Velvet-smooth; glides on for easy effortless eyes; gel glide liner doesn’t pull or skip; buildable color; waterproof; won’t crease, transfer, or smudge
Price :: $25 at Ulta, Sephora, Tarte
Shade Range :: 6
My Shade :: Rose Gold Luster & Brown Liner
Pros :: 2-in-1 convenience; shade range; talc free; no parabens, phthalates; cruelty free; pigmented; creamy; doesn’t tug/pull going on; buildable; easy to blend
Cons :: Availability; price; I can’t wear alone, have to set with powder shadow
Final Thoughts :: Love the shade range, they’re perfect for every day; the price isn’t cheap, but you’d pay more than $25 if you were to buy a shadow stick & liner separately so I think it’s fair; I have oily eyelids so I have to set the cream with a powder shadow to prevent creasing, but that won’t be an issue for everyone; I love the convenience of the 2-in-1; I prefer shadow sticks and brown liners so this product is PERFECT for me.

It Cosmetics Superhero No-Tug Longwear Eyeshadow Stick
Claims :: 16 hour wear; glides on smoothly; super blendable; all-day wear; won’t tug going on; creaseless; buildable; available in matte and pearl finishes
Price :: $24 at Ulta, Sephora, It Cosmetics
Shade Range :: 12 (5 matte, 7 pearl)
My Shade :: Super Slate
Pros :: Different finish options; shade range; creamy; glides on easily; no tugging; pigmented; buildable; stays in place all day; no creasing; works great alone or as a base for powder shadows; cruelty free; easy to blend; agree with all claims
Cons :: Price
Final Thoughts :: I LOVE shadow sticks and It Cosmetics so I couldn’t wait to try this; I prefer a shimmer shadow on the lid, but I love that they have matte options as well; the shades are great, every day neutrals that will compliment a variety of skin tones; doesn’t tug on the lid; easy to blend out; love that I can wear alone or with a powder shadow on top; does everything it claims; highly recommend

LOreal Infallible Glow-Lock Primer
Claims :: Perfects and illuminates while it hydrates skin for a better makeup application; leaves skin with a healthy, radiant glow that lasts all day; breathable
Price :: $12.99 at Ulta, $10 at Wal Mart
Pros :: Affordable; non-comedogenic; hydrating; smoothing; absorbs quickly; easy to blend
Cons :: Not cruelty free
Final Thoughts :: Thicker consistency than I expected but it’s easy to blend; hydrating; I didn’t notice a lot of glow so if that’s what you’re looking for, skip this; it doesn’t claim to be smoothing, but I feel like it smoothed out the skin and created the perfect base for foundation; hidden gem at the drugstore

elf No Budge Cream Eyeshadow

My Shade :: Sand Dune
Pros :: Affordable; cruelty free; vegan; no parabens or phthalates; sleek, compact packaging; love that I can use it alone, as a liner, and/or a base; creamy; buildable; easy to blend, but work quickly because once it sets, it’s locked in; love the slight, subtle sheen; love to use a primer/base and a liner; no creasing; agree with all claims
Cons :: None
Final Thoughts :: OBSESSED; perfect base for powder shadows and a great liner; AMAZING formula–stays all day, doesn’t crease, creamy, easy to blend; I hope they add more shades; does everything it says; highly recommend

Essence Lash Princess Liner
Claims :: Long-lasting; smudge-proof; high color payoff; felt tip can be used to create fine lines and/or a thick, bold look
Price :: $4.99 at Ulta, Amazon, Essence
Shade Range :: 2 (black, black waterproof, brown)
My Shade :: Brown
Pros :: Cruelty free; vegan; fragrance, alcohol, and paraben free; affordable; love that this is a true brown shade; cute, compact packaging; glides on with ease; pigmented
Cons :: Availability
Final Thoughts :: LOVE the color. A lot of brown liners are so dark that they look black, but not this one; cute packaging; got a thin line quickly and with ease; I was even able to easily create a cat eye and that’s no small feat for me; LOVE this and I knew it was a hit after one use; must try!
