Foundation Friday: Best Selling Foundations at Ulta…and my thoughts

Image via Google

I got this post idea from Taylor Wynn. She is one of my favorite YouTubers and you need to be watching her. You can see what I thought of the Sephora Best Sellers here.

There are almost 200 foundations available on the Ulta website. When you sort by “Best Sellers,” the field isn’t narrowed, just rearranged. When I did this post with Sephora foundations, I mentioned 34 foundations so I took the top 36 options from Ulta to share my thoughts on. There are a lot of overlaps between Ulta and Sephora and I didn’t want to repeat those products so they are excluded from this list. The current list is different and is probably different daily, but we’re going with this one.

I’ve reviewed a lot, tried a few with no formal review, and there are some on my “To Try” list.

Tried
MAC Studio Fix Powder, $31:: I like this one, but there are cheaper options that do the same thing
MAC Studio Fix Fluid, $31 :: Loved this when I had oily skin. I don’t think it would work as well for me now.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage, $39 :: Loved when I had oily, but it’s too matte for me now. Tarte shades lean yellow
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation, $39.50 :: Haven’t tried the matte version, but It Cosmetics doesn’t have shades that match me well. Original was too emollient for me.

L’oreal is one of my favorite foundations of all time, they have a HUGE range of shades. Maybelline also has some amazing foundations and shades.

    1. They both do! If these more affordable brands can get it right, there’s no reason why all brands can’t be more inclusive

I totally agree with you.. I’ve noticed the more high end the brand is, the more limited the shades are which is so strange.
