My Opinion
I’m pretty sure CoverGirl powder foundation was the first makeup product I ever owned and wore. They have the best mascaras, not just at the drugstore, the best in general. I’ve tried both of their mascara primers and both of them are awful. They did nothing for my lashes. I would think since they do mascaras so well that they could figure out primer, but they aren’t there yet. They make some complexion products that actually match me and that is always appreciated. I haven’t tried too many of their complexion enhancers and I do want to try more from that range. They have products to appeal to consumers of all ages. I love that they have their Olay & Simply Ageless products to appeal to a more mature demographic which I feel is often left out in cosmetics. You can count on CoverGirl to be affordable and easily accessible. They have really improved their eye shadows in recent years, but when I think eye shadow, I don’t go straight to this brand. They don’t do a ton of new releases, but they make an effort to keep up with trends and stay relevant. I love drugstore makeup , it’s my favorite, and i get excited when I see a new CG release. Their decision to go to cruelty free was a MAJOR step forward for them. If a brand that’s this big and sells their products for such affordable prices, there’s not reason why other drugstore brands like Maybelline and LOreal can’t do it too.
