Wild Fable Pink Sunglasses
–These are very Elton John-esque and extremely extra and this is exactly why I love them.
–My dad said they looked like a prop from a photo booth. *insert eye roll*
–They’re from Target, they’re cheap, and I love them. End of story.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Boosting Eyelash Serum
–I did a full review of this product earlier this week.
–You can read it here, but here’s the short version–>it works and I love it.

Highs & Lows Ring
–I’m pretty sure I came across this on Instagram and I knew I had to have it.
–I love the message behind it and I love wearing it every day as a reminder that God’s got this, whatever “this” turns out to be.
–The website has lots of other awesome products so check it out and use code “HDAWSON15” to save some money!

Milani Silky Matte Bronzing Powder in 01 Sun Light
Quick trip down memory lane: I didn’t start wearing bronzer until 2 or 3 years ago because there wasn’t a bronzer that truly worked for fair skin. They were all too dark or too orange and just not right. I didn’t even own a single bronzer until the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer came out 2016ish maybe. I now own 5. THANK YOU MAKEUP PEOPLE FOR HEARING OUR PLEAS.
I FREAKING love this bronzer. I’m almost willing to say it’s my most favorite ever. The tone and shade are perfect and a fair skin dream.
–It blends so easily and isn’t muddy or orange or too warm or too anything.
–It’s perfection and I haven’t stopped reaching for it all month.

Colour Pop Lux Lipstick in Cinderella
–Fun fact: Cinderella is my favorite princess and has been since I was a tiny tot and saw the movie for the first time. I believe this was foreshadowing to my shoe obsession.
–Cinderella is proof that one shoe can change your life. AMEN, SISTER.
–Naturally when two of my favorite things, lipstick and Cinderella, collided, I had to have it.
–NOT TO MENTION, the shade is my favorite shade of lipstick ever, a soft pink.
–This purchase was a no brainer and I have no regrets. This is the perfect, every day neutral for me.

Bobbi Brown Lux Lipstick in Uber Pink
–I found this at TJ Maxx for $12.
–The packaging is so heavy and pretty and luxurious and I just said YOLO and bought it.
–Do I have at least 4 other shades similar to this? Yes. However, no regrets here. I feel like a rich, elegant lady when I wear this and you really can’t put a price tag on that.

Before you try to convince me that they are the same color, YOU’RE WRONG. Thank you, next.

I don’t know how I’ve lived my monogram obsessed life up to this point without monogram stickers for my pens. I mean, how freaking cute?! Again, it’s extra, BUT no one will steal my pen from my desk and it’s adorable. No regrets. I want more. Every writing instrument I own (which is a lot) needs a monogram sticker.

What have you been loving this month?

I’ve shared empties posts a few times before, but if you’re new to empties, here’s the skinny–these are products that I completely used up. I give mini reviews and tell whether or not I would repurchase. It’s a good way to sort the good from the bad and see what’s worth buying and what you can skip.

Mascara Monday: Maybelline Lash Sensational Boosting Eyelash Serum

I’m doing a twist on Mascara Monday and featuring a lash serum instead of a standard mascara. Who doesn’t want longer fuller lashes so that your mascara will look amazing?!

Claims
–Lashes will seem thicker and fuller
–Less fallout during makeup remover
*in 4 weeks

Price
–$11.99 at Ulta
–$9.99 at Target
–$9.98 at Wal Mart
–$11.99 at Walgreens

Pros
–Affordable
–Found no issues or problems when applying while wearing contacts
–Easily accessible
–My lashes definitely grew longer and thicker
–Less shedding while removing my eye makeup
–Can use AM & PM

Cons
–None

Final Thoughts
I’ve tried a lash serum before and it worked, but oh that price tag! Most lash serums are in the $100 range and clearly this is at the opposite end of the spectrum. I honestly kept my expectations low, but IT WORKS!! My short, stubby lashes grew longer and fuller. I put it on in the mornings and at night most days. I forget and only use once a day every now and then. It didn’t irritate my eyes or contacts. Some serums require you to take your contacts out before applying, but this one didn’t and there was no irritation. I can’t say enough good things about this product. I started using it December 18, 2018 and I’m still using and loving it. I will continue to use and repurchase!

–Easy to blend
–Matte finish
–Coverage of a liquid with the finish of a powder

Price
–$11.99 at Ulta
–$9.99 at Target
–$9.99 at maybelline.com
–$7.94 at Wal Mart
–$11.99 at Walgreens

Shade Range
–12
–My shade: Fair Porcelain

Pros
–Shade match for me
–Easily accessible
–Full coverage
–Creamy, blendable formula

Cons
–Not cruelty free
–Shade range

Final Thoughts
There’s a shade light enough for me and you get full coverage in a flash. I can’t ask for much more! I have been looking for a full coverage powder to use on light makeup days or days when I need to get ready in a flash and this is it. I’ve bought a second one to keep in my purse for touch ups. I have perioral dermatitis and dry skin so I knew it would cling in certain areas and it did, but it didn’t bother me. I will definitely continue to use and repurchase this product. It reminds me of a Tarte powder that I loved that was discontinued and I like this price better anyway!

I use it with the sponge it comes with or my Bare Minerals brush.

Milani Prep+Set+Glow Illuminating Transparent Powder

Claims
–Natural, healthy glow
–Blurs imperfections
–Sets makeup
–Adds all over radiance
–Lit-from-within finish

Price
–$9.99 at milanicosmetics.com, Walgreens, Target
–$8.97 at Wal Mart

Pros
–Affordable
–Perfect for dry skin
–Cruelty free
–Vegan
–Sets makeup but doesn’t cake
–Lives up to all of its claims
–Easily accessible

Cons
–None

Final Thoughts
I am OBSESSED with this powder. I have dry skin, but I’m not into the super dewy, glowy look. Most setting powders are mattifying and don’t look the best on dry skin, but they set your makeup well. I was looking for a product that would set, but not necessarily mattify and accentuate my dryness and I finally found it. This one sets, but doesn’t mattify or cake. It just gives a beautiful, subtle glow. I use this product every single day and it is a dry skin dream. I can’t be without it!

P.S. I use it with this brush. I swirl the brush in and then go in and set. I use a light hand and a light amount of product.

IMG_4903
It’s really hard to get a swatch of a transparent powder, but I tried.

AM & PM :: My makeup was set and was still in place at the end of the day. You can see the subtle glow it gives a little better in the picture on the right.

Dupe or Duped? Liquid Glitter Shadows

IMG_7455

MILANI HYPNOTIC LIGHTS EYE TOPPER

Claims–Weightless :: Dries quickly :: Minimal fallout :: Holographic effects of pearls and glitter

Price–$9.99 at Target :: $11 at milanicosmetics.com :: $10.99 at Walgreens

Shade Range–4 (my shade: Luster Light)

Pros–Cruelty free :: Affordable :: Glitter/something extra for an eye look without the mess :: Minimal fall out :: Wear alone or over shadow

Cons–Shade range

Final Thoughts–I love the duochrome finish. It’s not as pigmented as the Stila one. It looks better worn over a shadow and is a little too sheer to be worn alone, although you can build it up. It is an eye topper and is meant to be worn over a shadow, but I wanted to mention how it looked on its own as well.

IMG_7454

STILA MAGNIFICENT METALS GLITTER & GLOW LIQUID EYE SHADOW

Claims–Maximum sparkle, minimal fallout :: Dries down smoothly :: Lightweight

Price–$24 at Ulta, Sephora, Nordstrom, stilacosmetics.com

Shade Range–15 (my shade: Kitten Karma)

Pros–Cruelty free :: Shade range :: Wear alone or over eye shadow :: Pigmented :: Glitter without the mess

Cons–Expensive

Final Thoughts–I love this and they are so loved and raved about for a reason. It gives a little something extra to any look. It’s easy to use and apply and pigmented enough to wear alone, though you could use it as a topper as well. It blends and applies well on top of powder shadows. A little goes a long way so one tube will last you a lifetime.

No flash :: Flash

There are some differences in these two products, but the point of these products is to add glitter and glam without the mess of a loose pigment/glitter. You are going to get the same effect with both products so save your monies and grab the Milani.
