CoverGirl Peach Punch Collection

IMG_0034

CoverGirl recently released 2 lines of scented makeup, peach & chocolate. The chocolate didn’t really interest me, but the peach line definitely did. I really wanted the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette, but I really didn’t want to pay that much for a palette I knew I wouldn’t reach for very often. Fortunately, CoverGirl stepped in to help a sister out.

The collection consists of an eye shadow palette, face palette, two blushes, and a highlighter. I’ve seen the eye shadow palette at a few other stores, but the highlighter and face palette are both Wal Mart exclusives. I didn’t pick up the individual blushes because the face palette came with blush shades.

The peach scent is definitely there, but it’s not overly powerful and it doesn’t linger.

Claims
–Highly pigmented
–Same look as a $50 palette

Price
–$9.96 @ Wal Mart

Pros
–Affordable
–Matte and shimmer options
–Pigmented
–Easy to blend
–Sleek packaging
–Smells good
–Dermatologist tested

Cons
–Shades are a little powdery
–There is fall out
–Not cruelty free
–No brow bone shade

Final Verdict
The peach scent is present, but it’s not overly powerful and it doesn’t linger. I love the mix of matte and shimmers. I don’t have the Too Faced palette to compare it to, but if you never picked that up and still want something similar in your collection, I definitely recommend picking this up.

Price
–$9.98 @ Wal Mart

Pros
–Pigmented
–Affordable
–Easy to blend
–Smells good
–Cute packaging

Cons
–Not cruelty free
–Wal Mart exclusive

Final Verdict
The bronzer is very warm, too warm to contour, but the tone works for my fair skin. The highlight shade is too dark for me to use as a highlighter so I mix it with the blush. I wore this makeup for 12 hours and it lasted pretty well. It had definitely started to fade by the end of the night, but I rarely wear my makeup that long and I was impressed with how well it held up. The bronzer is just ok, but I love mixing the other 2 shades for a pretty, peach glow.

Top shade is the highlighter in separate packaging followed by the bronzer, blush, and highlighter in the face palette.

Price
–$6.94 at Wal Mart

Pros
–Affordable
–Smells good
–Cute packaging
–Pretty shade

Cons
–STRAIGHT GLITTER
–Didn’t last long at all

Final Verdict
I HATE this highlighter. It’s basically pressed glitter. I had glitter all over my face. I used a cream base and set it with this and it faded so fast. I tried using MAC Fix+ to reduce the glitter fall out, and it helped, but it also made the shade too dark for my skin tone. This was a major fail.
