Books to Read 2018

books2018

One of my goals for 2018 is to read more. I have so many books on my Kindle and hard copy books that I need to read.

I LOVE to read, but I go in phases with it. I either read several books in a small amount of time or I don’t pick one up for months. I want to be more diligent about setting aside time to read each night. It’s a stress reliever and a good way to unwind before bed.

I love all kinds of books but I’ve really been into non-fiction for a while. My interests vary from hot topics to self-help to political and reality TV.

Fun Fact: I asked for Barack Obama’s The Audacity of Hope for Christmas when I was 15 after I saw him on Oprah’s show. I was really intrigued by this young Illinois Senator. Who would have known then that he would become POTUS?

Here are 18 books I want to read in 2018

  1. And Still She Laughs by Kate Merrick
  2. Skin Deep by Bee Shapiro
  3. The Wizartd of Lies by Diana B. Henriques
  4. Sisters First by Barbara Pierce Bush & Jenna Bush Hager
    • I’ve finished this and I loved it.
  5. Until I say Good-Bye by Susan Spencer-Wendel
  6. The Southern Education of Jersey Girl by Jaime Primak Sullivan
    • I’ve finished this and I loved it.
  7. Triumph by Carolyn Jessop
  8. Hope Heals by Catherine & Jay Wolf
  9. My Story by Elizabeth Smart
  10. I Didn’t Come Here to Make Friends by Courtney Robertson
  11. Promise Me, Dad by Joe Biden
  12. Beauty Uncertainty by Mandy Hale
  13. I’ve Never Been to Vegas but My Luggage has by Mandy Hale
  14. Breaking Free by Rachel Jeffs
  15. Between Breaths by Elizabeth Vargas
  16. My Beautiful Struggle by Jordan Bone
  17. It’s Messy by Amanda de Cadenet
  18. The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson

I would link all these, but I’m too lazy for that and I know y’all are capable of using Amazon/Google.

If I start reading a book and I don’t like it, I don’t make myself finish it. If I’m not into after a few chapters, it’s just not meant to be.

Whenever I hear/see a book that I want to read, I immediately add it to my Kindle Wish List. Every few weeks, I go check my Wish List, arrange it from low to high, and purchase a few books off there that have gone on sale. I RARELY buy a book when it releases because it’s so expensive. Kindle books go on sale all the time, sometimes for as little as $1.99, and that’s when I scoop them up.

I read on the Kindle app on my iPad because I used to have a Kindle and that’s where most of my books are but I have checked out iBooks, but I’ll probably stick with the Kindle app.

If you have any favorites that I need to add to my list, let me know!

  1. “My Story” was a tough read but worth it and “Yes Please” is seriously one of my favorites ever… if you haven’t read Tina Fey’s “Bossypants” I definitely recommend it!
